October 25, 2023—Weston McEwen High School Freshman class attended an industry tour to Smith Frozen Foods, JJ Snacks and Columbia Basin Agriculture Research Center. The tours provided valuable educational and research opportunities that exposed students to various aspects of their industries. Smith Frozen Foods students gained insights into the food freezing and processing techniques and the role of innovation in meeting the growing demands of the market. JJ Snacks is renowned for its delicious and innovative snack products, and students discovered the secrets behind their success CBARC students interacted with scientists and researchers involved in cutting-edge agricultural studies. The industry tours offer a unique opportunity for our WMHS students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. It will inspire students to explore potential career paths and foster a deeper appreciation for the industries in our region.Thank you to our community partners for opening their doors to the WMHS students and staff.
