wreaths

The holiday spirit is alive and well in the Greenhouse at Weston-McEwen High School. FFA students are busy making fresh wreaths to sell.

According to FFA Advisor Terrie Dennis, she and the students have the wreath-making down to an assembly line-like operation. First, Dennis goes to the mountains to gather the greenery and pinecones. Then, a group of students trims the greens, some wire them into bundles, some attach the bundles to the wire frames, and some attach ribbons and pinecones. “We have definitely figured out a method to make it pretty efficient,” Dennis said.

The wreaths are $35 each and all funds raised support the WMHS FFA chapter. Wreaths can be ordered through a QR code on flyers around town; for information, call the high school office at 541-566-3555. The next dates for wreaths to be picked up are December 12 and 19.

Last year, the group made and sold about 100 to 150 wreaths. FFA students appreciate the support!
