Welcome to Weston-McEwen High School, home of the TigerScots!!
It is with great pride that I welcome you to Weston-McEwen High School, home of the TigerScots. I am excited for this 2014-2015 school year. A new term you may be hearing over the next few years is “Common Core State Standards”, those standards are rigorous national learning expectations aligned with international standards. These common standards will provide a level playing field across the country and will prepare our students to compete not just here in Oregon, but nationally and internationally as well. Oregon is one of more than 45 states to adopt these new standards and over the coming years, WMHS will be phasing those new standards into our classroom instruction. Since Weston McEwen has a tradition of excellence in the classrooms, I know that our students and staff will continue to work hard to meet these new challenges.
Weston McEwen’s tradition of excellence is a great reflection of the students, teachers, staff, parents, and community. It is that kind of support and involvement that is a key factor to our success. Beyond the classroom, the TigerScots also have a tradition of excellence in extracurricular activities, and with the tremendous support of the community, our students are able to achieve great success.
Weston-McEwen High School currently serves approximately 160 students in grades 9-12.
Because of our unique size, and the fact that we have teachers and staff that truly care about the success of each and every student, all of our students are able to attain a high quality education that will prepare them for whatever career paths or life plans they may have beyond graduation.
My door is always open, and I personally invite you to stop by, call, or email me if you have any questions or concerns. The high school phone number (541) 566-3555, or you can reach me by email at rollie.marshallathwest.k12.or.us. Again, welcome to Weston-McEwen High School.
